Which drink bottle is best for you

With so many drink bottle options available, it can be tough to know which one is right for you. Take a closer look at the different materials and options below as we compare the pros and cons.

Glass Drink Bottles

Good points:
  • Non-reactive material, meaning it won’t alter the taste of your drink.
  • 100% recyclable and can be reused endlessly without losing quality or purity.
  • Stylish, sleek, and professional.
Less good points:
  • Fragile and can break if dropped or mishandled.
  • Heavier than plastic or metal, which can be a disadvantage if you need to carry your bottle around all day.
  • Not a good insulator- it won’t keep your drinks cold or hot for long.
  • Glass is not allowed in some public venues like stadiums or swimming pools.

Metal Drink Bottles

Good points:
  • Durable and can last for years.
  • Good insulator, meaning it will keep drinks cold or hot for much longer than other alternatives.
  • Double walled metal bottles stop condensation or sweating so they’re perfect to throw in your bag next to your laptop.
Less good points:
  • Metal drink bottles, especially vacuum insulated bottles are more expensive.
  • Vacuum insulated bottles are great if you have access to cold water or ice but aren’t ideal if you plan on cooling your water using a fridge. The insulation works a little to well and will slow the cooling process.

Plastic Drink Bottles

Good points:
  • Usually the most affordable option on the market.
  • Lightweight, which makes it easy to carry your bottle around with you all day.
  • Shatterproof, won’t break if dropped or mishandled.
Less good points:
  • Not eco-friendly because it can take hundreds of years to decompose in landfill.
  • Lower durability, more likely to crack, break, or develop leaks over time.
  • Absorb odours and flavours, which can affect the taste of your drink.
  • Made with chemicals that can leach into the water or liquid, especially when exposed to heat or sunlight. Tip- look for BPA free.
